In an interview on "Play a trick on & Friends," Trump referenced proposals from Democrats in the coronavirus stimulus negotiations that would have vastly increased funding for absentee and vote-by-mail options. The final packet included $400 1000000 for the effort, which was far less than what Democrats had sought. "The things they had in there were crazy," Trump said. "They had things — levels of voting that, if you ever agreed to it, you'd never have a Republican elected in this land again."
Surveys have indeed shown higher turnout probably would benefit Democrats, given many more than nonvoters lean toward that political party than they practice the GOP. A 2014 study by the Pew Research Middle showed that among people who weren't registered to vote or didn't plan to vote in that year'due south midterm election, 51 percent favored the Democratic Party, while simply 30 percent favored the Republican Party. Immature people, in particular, tend to be liberal simply vote at much lower rates than more conservative, older voters.

Trump is always saying the quiet part loud considering he has to have people explain all this shit to him because he has no fucking clue. So he's like a toddler who thinks they've been bestowed the knowledge of the ancients and needs to allow everyone know
This is exactly it.

So, he thinks that the more than people that vote the less of a chance they'd vote for a GOP candidate?
Weird thing to say, but OK.

Lol, what every republican is thinking merely are too afraid to acknowledge, so they hibernate behind "voter fraud" instead. In Oregon we have ane of the easiest voting systems (everything is by mail) with some of the highest turnout, and there are repubs who genuinely recollect the democrats simply win (usually by a pretty wide margin) because "the illegals" are able to vote easier, despite every study saying the opposite. Information technology would exist nice if they would all just say what they hateful.
Deflection, projection and obfuscation. Three of the biggest tools from the Republican rulebook.

If they had mandatory voting, Trump never gets elected. Trouble is Americans are totally obsessed with their personal freedoms and actually retrieve being forced to vote violates their personal liberty.Blows my mind equally an Australian with mandatory voting that America could have avoided the current disaster of a president but chose non to.
It doesn't help that many Autonomous voters seem to have this juvenile idea that if a candidate isn't completely perfect, the best form of action is to stay dwelling house and not vote. Of course this plays right into the Republicans hands as their voters have been conditioned to vote no affair what, even if it means holding their noses. I happen to think choosing moral righteousness over pragmatism when faced with the prospect of another 4 years of Trump is an incredibly bad strategy. I take no doubt that many around here volition disagree with me on this, help mitt the presidency over to Trump and spend the adjacent 4 years bitching about him anyway.
